Beautiful Bedrooms

Love these bedrooms in their sweet simplicity.  And who doesn't want some beautiful inspiration on a dreary ol' Monday?  Didn't even mean to choose such similar rooms, I just picked my favorites after a morning of design-blog scrollin'.  Guess I'm a sucker for natural lighting, whitewashed boards, and calming color palettes.

Oh how I love Spring

Halleluiah, people... we made it through winter alive!  How 'bout a happy pop of color to celebrate?  I just discovered this fabulous jewelry line on Etsy... isn't it fun!?  These three are my favorites: Powder Blue Hoops, Modern Necklace No. 6, and Rosy Flower Necklace No. 5.  Just so vibrant and fresh.

Garland Love

So lovely! In the words of the gals who make them over at the "Three Girls and Goat" etsy shop, "A paper whimsy, an elegant and fluttering addition for a touch of beauty to your everyday. Couldn't have said it better myself! Going to hang it from my windows. They are beautiful old windows that I don't want to cover up with curtains, so this will be perfect! And the gray in the picture is the same as my walls. Beautiful :)

They're so reasonably priced, too! Hand-cut and sewn, this is one of their pricier designs but it's still only $20 for 8 feet. Take a peek at their other garland designs. Which one's your fave?

Planner du jour

Ok first of all, you've gotta check out "Twine," an awesome online shop I just stumbled upon. (www.shoptwine.com). So many fun finds all in one spot!

I am loving this organizer, and it's only $18! I just ordered it, with high hopes that it can turn me into a more functional human being. We shall see! May the best planner win.

It's customizable with lots of creative touches, and the simple cover is just so pretty. I don't know if you know this, but I studied abroad in Paris for a semester...and let's just say "jour" is one of the only words I know.

I'm baa-aaaaack!

...and so are ilee calendars! So stinkin' beautiful. Each month is so unique and lovely. I've adored having one of these calendars for the past three years- and her original 2011 designs do not disappoint. Only $22 for a monthly dose-o-delight!

Before & After!

Here's a sneak peak at my bedroom furniture! Found the entire set on Craig's List for $100... bed, dresser, desk, nightstand, mirror. Woohoo! I even talked 'em down AND eyed the truck in their driveway for delivery to my apartment :)

I thought maybe the original paint could be charming. Nope. In person it was just plain orange-stenciled ugliness. So I threw on some primer and white paint (sounds simple right? Did you know there are 3238272 different shades of "white"?!) And look how pretty! This make-under totally shows off the cool chunky metal pulls... I think those alone would be worth a hundred bucks!

These ain't your typical red rooster kitchen pictures! I've completely ignored my current kitchen decorating-wise; but these have inspired me to make it cute in my new apartment :) Maybe that's why I never cook??

Our New Apartment!!

It's official. I am in LOVE! Ok, so the outside picture doesn't do its charm justice ... but I am way too impatient not to share my glee this very minute!

So excited to show you the inside once we move (in mid-July), and to track its transformation!

The only thing more exciting than the wood floors and exposed brick is the awesomeness of the two other girls who will also call it home :)

Novel Nauticals

Haven't been inspired to blog lately... probably because it's been "hotter than the hinges of hell" in Richmond (thank you, Suzi Hopper) But these lovelies broke my slump. They're printed on antique book pages. Aren't they cool?!

A Father's Day idea...

I thought this card was so sweet, and very frameable for a great gift!

If your dad is anything like mine, he probably doesn't spend much time perusing design blogs or buying beautiful letterpress notecards. (Nor does he have any clue what either of those even are). But...

... he loves YOU! And sentiments like this always mean a lot to him. A new tie will just get mixed up with the old ones he bought for himself; but a meaningful print will always remind him that he's loved and remembered.

Jill Sanders

This is one of the most beautiful paintings I've seen in a while. Her patterned dress. The muted background. The simple wood floor. I love it. It certainly provided me with my daily dose of delighting!

Summer Scent

Just bought this Method handsoap at Target last week...talk about a simple joy! Now every time I wash my hands I get a little burst of happy. It literally smells exactly the same as if you'd just cut open a fresh ruby red.

Whisks me right out of my teensy little creaky-floored, leaky-fauceted bathroom. And they make an all-surface cleaning spray, too!

Hadley Hutton prints

Hadley was a featured artist in Richmond's "Skirt" magazine last summer whose work caught my eye. I was a happy girl when I found out her prints are accessible and affordable. I knew I loved her :)

... would sound a lot more lovely. Aren't they beautiful, though!? These are a tad hard to find in Richmond, but Whole Foods usually pulls through when I need an extra bit of happiness to brighten up my life. Joy in a vase.
